For nurses trained outside the Gulf

Six countries, six regulators, one process.

The Gulf Licence Roadmap takes you from "which country accepts my degree?" to a licence you can activate: eligibility, DataFlow, every regulator's steps and fees, the exam rules with the official numbers, and an 8-week study plan. Every rule is sourced to the regulator and dated.

1

Verify

DataFlow primary-source verification of your degree, licence and experience. 15–25 working days when the file is clean.

2

Qualify

Your degree and years decide your title in each country before you spend a riyal.

3

Test

Prometric or Pearson VUE, depending on the door. Attempts are limited and pooled in the UAE.

4

Register

Registration certificate, then activation once you have an employer. Each has an expiry clock.

Straight answers

The questions that cost people months, answered with the regulator's numbers.

These five come up in every nurses' group, every week, and the prep companies keep answering them from old pages. Here is what the regulators actually publish.

What is the DHA nursing exam pass mark?

150 multiple-choice questions, 3 hours, pass mark 50%, fee USD 240. Not 60, not 65: the prep sites are quoting an older sheet.

Source: DHA computer-based testing guideline, May 2026 update.

How many attempts do you get in the UAE?

Three, pooled across DHA, DOH and MOHAP: a failure in Abu Dhabi counts in Dubai. Three failures bring a two-year block; a fourth attempt is only by permission. Prepare once, sit once.

Source: Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR), April 2025, §1.5.4.

Does a 3-year diploma make you a Registered Nurse?

Not in the UAE: a three-year diploma maps to Assistant Nurse; the RN title needs a BSN. Saudi Arabia calls the same degree Nurse Technician, Qatar Registered General Nurse. Same certificate, three different doors.

Why did my DataFlow come back negative?

Almost never because of DataFlow. It is an HR department that did not reply, a date that does not match, or a name spelled two ways across documents. Fix those before you upload and the report is positive first time.

Source: DataFlow FAQ; the guide's chapter 4 walks through the submission.

What is the SNLE, and what should I study first?

200 questions in two 120-minute blocks, pass score 500/800. Adult nursing is 40% of the blueprint, maternal-child 30%, management 10–15%: study in that order.

Prometric or Pearson VUE?

Abu Dhabi (DOH) and Oman (OMSB) exams are delivered by Pearson VUE; everything else in the Gulf is Prometric. Same exam style, different booking system, and Pearson VUE lets you reschedule free up to 48 hours before.

Who it is for

Written for the nurse who is 3 to 18 months from applying.

This guide is for you if

  • You trained in the Philippines, India, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Nigeria, or anywhere outside the GCC.
  • You have not yet started DataFlow, or it came back negative and you want to know why.
  • You are choosing between the UAE and Saudi Arabia and want the real difference in attempts, titles and timing.
  • You would rather read the regulator's rule once than argue with a comments section.

It is not

  • A question bank. It tells you what to study and in what order; the practice questions come from your bank of choice.
  • A job guarantee. It gets you to a licence you can activate; the employer is yours to find.
  • A promise of a pass rate. Nobody publishes one.

On pass rates: every "pass rate" you see for Gulf nursing exams comes from a company selling preparation, not from a regulator. The single published figure is an academic study of Saudi undergraduates. Prepare as if the first attempt is the only one, because in the UAE it nearly is.

Questions before buying

Good questions.

Is the guide in English or Arabic?

English, written plainly for nurses whose first language is not English. An Arabic edition is in preparation; buyers of this edition receive it when it is ready.

Which countries does it cover?

All six GCC states: the UAE (DHA in Dubai, DOH in Abu Dhabi, MOHAP for the Northern Emirates), Saudi Arabia (SCFHS), Qatar (DHP), Oman (OMSB), Bahrain (NHRA) and Kuwait (MOH).

What happens after I pay?

The PDF downloads immediately and stays in your Whop library. When a regulator changes a rule, the file is updated and you get the new version at no cost.

Does it cover doctors, pharmacists or physiotherapists?

This edition is written for nurses. The DataFlow and regulator chapters apply to every profession, but the exam chapters are nursing-specific. Allied-health editions are planned.

Can I pay in my own currency?

Yes. Checkout accepts cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and shows the price in your local currency where available.

Who wrote it?

Mohammed Alajlouni, who builds licensing guides for nurse creators. Every figure in the guide is tied to the regulator's own document and dated, and the references section lets you check each one yourself.
